Polyisocyanides derived from tripeptides of alanine.

چکیده
Helical polymers of isocyanotripeptides derived from alanine have been synthesized and their architectures studied in detail. The helical conformation of the polyisocyanotripeptides is stabilized by internal hydrogen-bonding arrays between the tripeptide side chains. The possibility of extending the well-defined hydrogen-bonded array, from dipeptide to tripeptide side chains, depends strongly on the stereochemistry of the constituent alanine amino acids, as has been shown by circular dichroism and IR studies. In polymers containing a weaker hydrogen-bonding array adjacent to the polymer backbone, due to steric interactions between the alanine methyl groups, a stronger second hydrogen-bonding array was present between the peptide bonds furthest away from the main chain, which is probably a result of stretching/compression of the helical-polymer conformation.

Chiral and Molecular Recognition through Protonation between Aromatic Amino Acids and Tripeptides Probed by Collision-Activated Dissociation in the Gas Phase.
Chiral and molecular recognition through protonation was investigated through the collision-activated dissociation (CAD) of protonated noncovalent complexes of aromatic amino acid enantiomers with l-alanine- and l-serine-containing tripeptides using a linear ion trap mass spectrometer. In the case of l-alanine-tripeptide (AAA), NH₃ loss was observed in the CAD of heterochiral H⁺(d-Trp)AAA, whil...
متن کاملInhibition of adhesive activity of K88 fibrillae by peptides derived from the K88 adhesin.
A cyanogen bromide fragment derived from the K88ab adhesin inhibited the hemagglutinating activity of K88 fibrillae. Smaller fragments which inhibited the adherence of K88 fibrillae to erythrocytes or to intestinal epithelial cells were obtained by digestion of K88ab fibrillae with alpha-chymotrypsin. Active peptides were isolated from the digestion mixture and identified as Ser-Leu-Phe and Ala...
متن کاملNear-infrared spectrometric determination of di- and tripeptides synthesized by a combinatorial solid-phase method.
A new method based on near-infrared (NIR) spectrometry and partial least-squares analysis has been developed for the noninvasive and nondestructive determination of the identity and sequences of amino acid residues in di- and tripeptides. The di- and tripeptides were synthesized from six amino acids with similar structures (Gly, Ala, Leu, Met, Phe, Val) on two different polymer beads (bead with...
متن کاملAbsorption of two tripeptides by the human small intestine: a study using a perfusion technique.
1. A double-lumen perfusion technique has been used in man to study intestinal absorption of two tripeptides, glycyl-glycyl-glycine and L-alanyl-glycyl-glycine. Intraluminal tripeptide hydrolysis has been investigated by incubating both tripeptides in vitro with fresh uncentrifuged saline aspirates. 2. Glycine was absorbed faster from a glycyl-glycyl-glycine solution (3.3 mmol/l) than from an e...
متن کاملSynthesis, characterization and selective oxidation using a new copper (II) Schiff base complex derived from Alanine and 4-chloro3- formyl coumarin
A novel Schiff-base ligand (L: 2-[(4-chloro-2-oxo-2H-chromen-3-ylmethylene)-amino] propionic acid) was prepared from the reaction of 4-chloro3-formylcoumarin and alanine amino acid. Copper (II) complex was synthesized from the reaction of the ligand with Cu (OAc)2. H2O in ethanol. The ligand and its metal complex were characterized by elemental analysis (CHN), ICP, thermal analysis (TGA), Fouri...
